brief updates

brief update number "i am a swimming pool"

I have not written a brief update on this site for a long time. Things have changed. I am in California. This is my favorite picture from the whole trip.

california trip

No, it’s a stupid picture. There are better ones. I am wearing a Chris Webber jersey. I wonder if anyone thought I was Chris Webber. Maybe they thought I was his brother. Okay, I guess that is all for this update. I should say other things. I should mention the change in the site. Some things are wider. Other things are not. A few things disappeared from the front page. They are other places. They still exist.

roy kesey

Also, I would like to show you Roy Kesey’s Two-Minute Mind. His Two-Minute Mind is a bed. There are other Two-Minute Minds here. I think this font is two big. I don’t mind. My grandmother doesn’t have a computer, but if she did I wouldn’t want her to strain her eyes.

a brief update brought to you by people who feel you should know

one thing...

today is a special day because it is the fiftieth comic from ZACH FORSBERG-LARY:Number 50

I hope it never ends.  When he is fifty maybe he'll be just drawing comic one million.  I don't know if the math is right but I would clap.

brief update number one (volume one: issue three)

Today is a great day in the history of Everyday Yeah. In a way I am reminded of this comic. Many may not remember the "White Man" review, but it seems we've attracted the attention of the author who left the following comment: "The title of my book is Whiteman, not White Man. The cover of the book is by Ouattara Watts, who belongs to the Senoufo tribe of Ivory Coast, which borders the Worodougou tribe described in the book. Watts was discovered by the late Basquiat and brought to New York City in the 80's shortly before he (Basquiat) succumbed to AIDS. Watts continues to paint in New York and contributed the cover for Whiteman gratis. Good luck, Tony" It's nice to see our screw ups are generating attention, not to mention the review itself. I doubt he was pleased. Oh well. Many may be curious why we've chosen not to change the title to its correct form. The truth is, we feel it reflects better on the site to maintain that air of superiority through our idiocy. Also, be sure to check out Alex Butzbach's 'The Battle for Gainsborough Field'. It's part of the new civil war stories series. And last, Everyday Yeah had it's 1000th visitor.

brief update number two (volume one: issue two)

A few things... I hope everyone enjoys the Garrison Keillor interview. Also, I want to pass along one of those strange, but curiously true facts. If you search for eyebrow lice in google everyday yeah is the tenth site listed. Yes, one of my prouder moments. Terrence Doyle also wants to pass along a new blog of his in its infancy: If you insist...

brief update number one (volume one: issue two)

A few things... Today is a glorious day. It marks the return of Ross Fielding's beautiful voice and Zach Forsberg-Lary's illustrious comic. Yesterday, there was some nice banter on the topic of best friends: opinion one and opinion two ...and just so you know, today's best friends picture is from outside an abortion clinic.

brief update number four (volume one: issue one)

A few things... www.everydayyeah.com now has a stat counter. It's small, you have to look for it. I'm not sure if it works. Vinylrake has been found. A man just walked past me, took off his hat, revealed his bald head, looked at me, gave me a nod, glanced up as if weary of the impending storm, and shook his head. An old guy is dead.

brief update number three (volume one: issue one)

A few things... One: In honor of the following post I have changed the comment settings. Let vinylrake live as he sees fit. Let others follow in his footsteps. A great nation built and lead by vinylrake. And for those who don't know how to click on links, here is vinylrake's story about breadboxes: my grandmother had a bread box, but she kept mostly cookies and other mass-manufactured baked desert type things in it. when we visited 2 or 3 times a year there were always yummy things in the breadbox. it wasn't until i was in my teens that i realized the open bag of chewier than normal circus peanuts that i was munching at christmas was the same bag i had opened when i was visiting over the summer. i used to think my grandma was anticipating our arrival and stocking up on good things for us before we would visit. now i know she was just an indifferent housekeeper. another childhood memory crushed. Two: Now that the Jewish Christmas is over the review of each day has been combined into one big recap. You can find it here.

brief update number two (volume one: issue one)

Today is a special day. Everyday Yeah welcomes its first interview. His name is Jesse Ball. I like to call him Mr. Ball. I do not know if he likes this or not. I did not find this out in the interview which is a bit embarrassing, but I've done worse. Anyway, Jesse Ball has written a couple books, he's a true scientist of the English language. His last book, Samedi the Deafness, is definitely worth checking out. Also, today is a grand day for two other reasons: One, we welcome our first photo essay. Two, I believe it is the first time fish have been pictured on the site.

brief update number one (volume one: issue one)

Hello, I am brief update number one (of issue one which will eventually be bound and shelved in volume one). I'm not sure what I'm really supposed to do, but I think it's important that I am concise, quick and to the point. My father was a babbler and I hated him for that. Anyway, the big guy wanted everyone to know that Alex Butzbach and Ross Fielding have new bios. They both describe themselves beautifully. Also, all of Ross's audio stories are now accompanied by their written versions. This is not to say that Ross mumbles. No, we just understand that certain people process information differently. Send your thank yous in the form of Hanukkah gifts. In other news, I watched the first season of SNL this weekend. I think I most enjoyed the short movies by Albert Brooks, who coincidentally enough was the partial focus of Alex Butzbach's second day of hanukkah, ghostface killah day. Anyway, I wanted to find a clip of Albert's short movies, but instead stumbled upon this trailer for a high quality television program.
